The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (1966)

Pet Sounds é o décimo primeiro álbum de estúdio da banda de rock americana The Beach Boys, lançado 16 de maio de 1966 pela Capitol Records. Tem sido amplamente classificado como o mais influente disco já lançados na história da música e foi classificado número # 1 em várias listas de maiores álbuns de todos os tempos em revistas de música, incluindo a New Musical Express, The Times. Em 2003, foi classificado # 2 na lista 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, da revista Rolling Stone. Pet Sounds foi criado vários meses após Brian Wilson ter parado de excursionar com a banda a fim de concentrar sua atenção na escrita e gravação. Nesse trabalho, ele teceu camadas elaboradas de harmonias vocais, juntamente com efeitos de som e instrumentos não-convencionais, como sinos de bicicleta, órgãos, cravos, flautas, teremim, e apitos para cães, junto com instrumentos mais usuais como teclados e guitarras. Pode-se considerar que este seja o primeiro álbum do art rock, ou seja, rock em forma de arte no sentido adjetivo da palavra. Os principais alicerces para este álbum são encontrados nos álbuns anteriores de 1965, The Beach Boys Today! e Summer Days (and Summer Nights!).
Os Beach Boys não foram os criadores da surf music mas foram os responsáveis por sua popularidade e modernização. Capitaneados por Brian Wilson, Pet Sounds (1966) é um dos grandes momentos dos anos 60. Pet Sounds mostra um Beach Boys evoluído e com muita maturidade musical, apresentando elaboradas vocalizalizações, harmonias sofisticadas, uso de vários instrumentos pouco convencionais e efeitos sonoros interpolados às canções. Brian Wilson trabalhou meses na construção do álbum, que foi produzido em mono devido sua surdez progressiva em um dos ouvidos. Também sofria sérios problemas psicóticos causados pelo abuso de drogas e que se agravaram após o lançamento de Pet Sounds. Por conta disso foi expulso da banda e só voltou no ano de 1971, quando lançaram seu maior clássico, Surf's Up, totalmente contrário ao sonho dourado que ajudaram a construir. A banda era formada por Al Jardine (vocais, percussão), Bruce Johnston e Mike Love (vocais), Brian Wilson (vocais, teclados), Carl Wilson (vocais, guitarra) e Dennis Wilson (bateria, vocais).

Kyoto Jazz Massive é um projeto musical especializado em batida quebrada e estilos eletrônicos, consistindo de dois irmãos e Yoshihiro Okino Shuya Okino. O grupo também incluiu Hajime Yoshizawa, o produtor, pianista de uma série de obras e álbuns. Embora os irmãos DJed no final de 1980 e foram remixing e compondo tanto para trás como o início de 1990, eles foram amplamente popularizado pelos britânicos Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson em cerca de 2001. Wu-Syndicate - Wu-Syndicate (1999)

Wu-Syndicate é um grupo de Virginia composta por Joe Mafia, Myalansky (que nomeou a si mesmo depois da vida real gangster Meyer Lansky). Eles foram originalmente chamado Crime Syndicate (Sindicato do Crime), mas mudou seu nome para Wu-Syndicate, quando eles assinaram com a Wu-Tang Records e tornaram-se afiliadas Wu-Tang Clan. Depois de estrear na compilação Bees Wu-Tang Killa: The Swarm, em 1998, seu auto-intitulado álbum de estréia Wu-Syndicate foi lançado em 1999 em ambos os Wu-Tang Records e sua própria gravadora Tempo Slot. apresentava Napolean associado fortemente, caracterizado como terceiro membro. Evidência, (também conhecido como Ev e Mr. Slow Flow), pseudônimo de Michael Perretta (Los Angeles, 10 de dezembro de 1976), é um rapper beatmaker, e escritores dos EUA, mas suas origens são bastante composto, sendo um pai italiano e mãe russo-americanas.

Evidence está interessado em Hip Hop apenas oito anos após o divórcio dos seus pais e é dedicado à breakdancing jovens, skate, graffiti e mais tarde com a equipe Veneza Z-Boys. Em uma entrevista recente, há alguns anos declarou que a união ea afeição por sua mãe, dizendo que ela representava uma fonte de inspiração e de compromisso com ele e sua arte.

Nas - Illmatic (1994)

Nas, nome artístico de Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, (Nova York, 14 de Setembro de 1973) é um rapper e ator americano. Filho do músico de jazz Olu Dara, ele nasceu e foi criado em nos conjuntos habitacionais de Queensbridge, no Queens, New York City. Seu álbum de estréia, Illmatic, lançado em 1994 pela Columbia Records, foi criticamente aclamado e elogiado como um clássico no gênero. Nas foi parte do supergrupo de hip hop The Firm, que lançou um álbum.

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, ou apenas, Nas, ficou conhecido pelo álbum Illmatic de 1994, que muitos consideram um dos melhores, ou o melhor álbum de hip hop de todos os tempos. Este estabeleceu ao rapper um hip hop no estilo poético, elevado no notório Queensbridge em Nova York. Lançou pela Columbia Records o seu primeiro álbum, Illmatic. Segue-se e é lançado It Was Written em 1996, o cantor procurou uma direção mais popular que resultou em um sucesso mais largo, mas com a credibilidade artística diminuída entre os críticos e puristas de hip hop. Além disso, o sucesso comercial aumentado de Nas foi acompanhado por mudanças estilísticas que nutriram acusações de ceder ante desejos incorporados e chegar a um acordo no estilo que tinha cativado seus fãs. Em 1999 o rapper lança dois álbuns: I Am... e Nastradamus.
Em 2001 surge com Stillmatic, dele se extraíram vários singles, entre os quais se encontra o tema "Ether", um diss para Jay-Z em jeito de resposta ao diss anteriormente enderaçado por Jay-Z à Nas na canção "Takeover". O álbum Stillmatic é creditado frequentemente por restabelecer a credibilidade de Nas entre os fãs. Com o sucesso de Stillmatic, o rapper continuou mantendo um perfil alto dentro da comunidade hip hop, e procurou decididamente seu pessoal estético. No ano de 2002, é lançado God's Son, do qual se podem destacar "Made You Look" e "I Can". Em 2005 lança Street's Disciple e conta com dois singles de sucesso, "Bridging the Gap", que conta com a colaboração do seu pai Olu Dara, e "Just a Moment", que conta com a participação de Quan. Em 2006, lança mais um álbum, intitulado Hip Hop Is Dead.


No ano de 2008, Nas lança o polêmico álbum que primeiramente recebeu o nome de Nigger, termo pejorativo usado nos Estados Unidos para se referir aos negros, mas um pouco antes de seu lançamento oficial, o álbum acabou sem título, Untitled. O tema deste possui uma grande carga sobre o racismo. Em 2010, foi lançado mais um álbum, chamado Distant Relatives, agora com parceria do cantor de reggae Damian Marley. Method Man - Tical (1994)

Method Man (Clifford Smith, 1 de abril de 1971), rapper, produtor, ator e membro do Wu-Tang Clan. Seu nome vem de um filme de 1979, "The Fearless Young Boxer", seu nome também baseia-se na gíria "method" que significa maconha na sua terra natal Staten Island. Method Man é uma das figuras mais carismáticas do rap atualmente, ele também é conhecido como Meth, Tical, Johnny Blaze, Hott Nikkels, MZA e Iron Lung. É um dos mcs que tem melhor presença de palco e também um dos maiores apreciadores da erva.
Method Man teve o seu início de carreira com o Wu-Tang Clan no álbum Enter 36 Chambers. Ele sempre foi um dos que mais teve destaque no Clan, e foi um dos dos únicos membros a ganhar um música solo no álbum. Foi um dos primeiros do Wu-Tang a lançar um álbum solo, "Tical" pela Def Jam em 1994. O álbum foi altamente aclamado e ultrapassou 1 milhão de cópias vendidas. Ele tem colaborado com vários singles de outros artistas e tem também uma sólida parceria com Redman. Em uma dessas colaborações Meth ganhou o Grammy junto a Mary J Blige pela música "I'll Be There for You/You're all I Need". Além de ter aparecido no álbum do 2pac "All Eyes On Me" na música "Got My Mind Made Up". Durante esse tempo Method se tornou amigo íntimo do falecido Notorius B.I.G., e foi um dos dois únicos a participar do álbum de estréia de BIG "Ready To Die".

Necro - Gory Days (2001)

Necro começou a se envolver com música, não necessariamente no Rap, mas sim com início no Death/Trash Metal, que é uma caracteristica marcante nas letras e produções dele. Necro "Dias Sangrentos" é 2º album onde ele enfatiza o estilo "Death Rap" que ele mesmo criou. Ele começou tocando guitarra com 11 anos, numa banda chamado Injustice, de Trash/Death Metal. Isso tambem ajudou a ser reconhecido com o criador do "Death Rap" um subgênero do horrorcore, que se mostra bem no som "Suffocated to Death" do álbum "Death Metal" de 2007.
